- What should I do if the OneCause Toolbar doesn't appear on my browser?
There are a couple of reasons you may not be seeing the OneCause Toolbar.
When you initially installed the toolbar, you may not have changed a configuration under Internet Explorer and Firefox that would allow you to view the toolbar on your browser. To correct this, do one or all of the following:
For Internet Explorer:
- On the top menu of the browser, click "View," choose "Toolbars" and make sure that "OneCause Toolbar" is checked. If it is checked, try un-checking it, then see if the toolbar appears.
- On the top menu of the browser, click "View,"
choose "Toolbars" and uncheck "Lock the Toolbars."
This allows you to now select the dividers in the browser between various
toolbars, and resize the entire toolbar vertically to make the toolbar
selections appear. You can then arrange them as desired.
For Firefox:
- Choose "Toolbars" from the “View” menu. This
will open a list of toolbars installed on your system. Make sure that
"OneCause Toolbar" is checked.
Note that resizing the entire browser window allows you to see all toolbar options and rearrange them as you want.
If this doesn't work, then please make sure you have enabled third-party browser extensions. To do this:
- On the top menu of the browser, click "Tools," choose "Internet Options" and select “Advanced.” Please make sure that "Enable third-party browser extensions*" option is checked.
If the box isn't checked then check the box and restart Internet Explorer.
- Next, check to see if it's been added to the toolbars
visible.
On the top menu of the browser, click "View," choose "Toolbars" and check the status of "OneCause Toolbar." If there is a check next to "Lock the Toolbars," you will need to select that first to uncheck it, then you'll be able to choose the OneCause Toolbar.
- Should I allow Automatic Update of the OneCause Toolbar?
Yes, you should allow Automatic Update of the software. Periodically we will update the OneCause Toolbar to provide you with new ways to contribute.
- How do I know if my contributions are tracking through the OneCause Toolbar?
The OneCause Toolbar features a colored circle to the right of your contributions. This circle indicates one of four alerts:
- Green circle: You are on a participating OneCause merchant website and will receive contributions for any eligible purchase made there.
- Red circle: This merchant is not a participating OneCause merchant and no contributions will be earned when you shop. However, you can find similar OneCause merchants that do contribute on eligible purchases by clicking the red light.
- Yellow circle: To contribute when you shop at a merchant with this yellow light, you must either click "OK" on your toolbar OR click the “Earn Contributions” button.
- Gray circle: This indicates a site that is not affiliated with OneCause. No contributions can be earned.
