> Question: Why did Temple Israel Alameda join OneCause?

Answer: The program was established before I became involved, however, since a previous employer of mine used OneCause, the new home of Schoolpop, as a fundraising stream, I was familiar with the program and wanted to see it grow. Plus, for selfish reasons, I love to shop online so I wanted those purchases to count for the temple instead of another organization.

> Question: How does Temple Israel Alameda use its OneCause contributions?

Answer: The money goes into our general fund, which gives us more flexibility. Items it helps pay for include the rabbi and cantor's salaries, special needs or items to purchase for the High Holidays, our religious school supplies, etc.

> Question: Do you have a current OneCause contribution goal?

Answer: We set an overall goal of $5,000 for FY2007-08 for OneCause, eScrip, grocery loyalty cards and gift cards – and we met that goal through continual promotion of the programs and the dedication of key members who always remember to make purchases through such programs.

> Question: What specific resources do you use to reach your contribution goals?

Answer: I print out various flyers that you offer and have those sent from time-to-time in monthly mailers to all the members.

> Question: What best practices can you offer to other religious organization Supporters and Champions?

Answer: Remind people to check their account to make sure their purchases are appearing. Go to meetings to talk about the program or talk one-on-one with a member for an earning plus.
