Social Networking Community Transforms Shoppers into Donors Washington, D.C. - June 12, 2009 - TRUiST, the leading provider of global philanthropy solutions, today announced a strategic partnership with OneCause, the leading social networking and shopping-based fundraising community. TRUiST will introduce the OneCause program to its network of more than 100,000 charity recipients, offering them a complementary fundraising vehicle and a fresh opportunity to engage current and prospective donors. "TRUiST is committed to connecting supporters with worthy causes around the world," said TRUiST CEO Bill Horne. "Our partnership with OneCause not only provides an innovative new way for donors to connect with like-minded individuals, access information and make a charitable impact, but also empowers charitable organizations and schools with an innovative fundraising tool to do more with less." A recent Philanthropy 2.0 survey suggests that today's prospective donor wants more information - about an organization's impact, successes and finances - while also wishing to interact and dialogue with other donors. Using the OneCause community, donors can access interactive tools and information while connecting with innovative, non-traditional contribution opportunities. Once registered, users may shop the OneCause network of more than 700 well-known merchants, and contribute up to 20% of every eligible purchase to their preferred nonprofit cause or school. "Today's economy, coupled with the onslaught of social media, requires organizations to think differently about their donor base," said Stephen Avalone, President. of OneCause. "Organizations must ask how social media and non-traditional, donation vehicles can be used to attract new supporters and new types of donations, thereby increasing their impact in communities near and far." About TRUiST 1,000 customers across more than 50 countries, representing a cumulative total of 3,000 programs, 1 million volunteers and $2.5 billion in charitable contributions.
